Georgia Woman Dies in Wreck that Split Her Car in Half
WHITE COUNTY, GA. – October 30, 2018 (ajc.com) A Georgia woman died October 29 in a major vehicle wreck that split her car in half, according to an online news report from ajc.com. The accident occurred on Ga. 115 in White County, Georgia.*
At approximately 2 p.m. on October 29, 51-year-old Margie Milum, of Dahlonega, Georgia, was driving a Chevrolet Cobalt westbound on Ga. 115 in White County. Near Town Creek Road, Milum lost control of her car and traveled off the side of the road. She then overcorrected and hit a westbound Toyota Camry. Upon impact, Milum’s Cobalt crossed into the eastbound lane of the highway and was struck head-on by a Dodge Journey.
A release from the Georgia State Patrol says Milum’s Cobalt was “split in half” after colliding with the Dodge. The front half of her car came to a rest in the eastbound lane, and the back half landed in the west shoulder of Ga. 115.
Milum sadly died at the scene. The driver of the Dodge and a juvenile passenger in the Dodge were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. They have not been identified. The driver of the Toyota, who has also not been identified, was not injured in the crash.
Georgia State Patrol is continuing to investigate and has not released additional information at this time. It is not clear what caused Milum to initially lose control of her car and drive off the road. Authorities do not intend to file any charges against the survivors of the crash.
