Man, Several Vehicles Shot in Paulding County, Georgia

PAULDING COUNTY, GA. – October 30, 2018 ( A man and several vehicles were hit with gunshots October 29 in what started out as a fight in Paulding County, Georgia. Details of the incident are reported online at*

At approximately 2:50 p.m. on October 29, police in Paulding County received a 911 call regarding a fight in the 8400 block of Dallas Acworth Highway. While traveling to the scene, deputies with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office received additional information about the incident, including that it had been upgraded to a shooting in progress involving multiple people. 

Deputies arrived at a residence to find one man with a gunshot wound to the leg and several vehicles with bullet damage. Numerous people were still present at the scene. Deputies took all parties at the scene into custody without discharging their weapons. They were able to secure the scene and investigate the incident. Deputies stayed at the scene well into the evening to gather evidence and speak to witnesses. 

The man who was shot was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. He has not been identified. The other people at the scene were taken to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office for questioning. None of these people has been identified. 

It is not yet clear what initiated the fight at the residence or what caused it to escalate to a shooting. It is also not clear how many people discharged firearms during the incident. Paulding County deputies are continuing to investigate, and no additional information about the incident has been released at this time.
