West Virginia Head-On Crash Results in One Fatality
KANAWHA COUNTY, WV. – October 23, 2018 (wsaz.com) A head-on collision involving an SUV and a coal truck in West Virginia resulted in one fatality, according to an online news report from wsaz.com.*
At approximately 8 a.m. on October 23, an SUV and a coal truck collided head-on in the 2600 block of Lens Creek Road in Hernshaw, Kanawha County, West Virginia. The driver of the SUV, who has not been identified, died in the crash. There were no passengers in the SUV. The driver of the coal truck, who has also not been identified, was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries. His or her current medical condition is not known.
The collision shut down the 2600 block of Lens Creek Road for some time to allow crews to investigate and to clear the wreckage. It is not yet clear how the accident occurred. Authorities in West Virginia are investigating and have not yet released additional information. It is not known whether the driver of the coal truck is at fault or will face a citation or charges.
