Woman Shot in the Neck Before Car Crash was Model in Georgia

October 16, 2018

CLAYTON COUNTY, GA. – October 11, 2018 ( According to an updated report from, the woman who was shot in the neck before causing a vehicle wreck in Clayton County, Georgia, was an aspiring model.*

At approximately 7 a.m. on October 8, 28-year-old Kelsey Quayle was driving a Mazda 626 westbound on Upper Riverdale Road in Clayton County. Near Roy Huie Road, she suddenly began to drift over the centerline of the road and drove into the path of oncoming traffic. Her car then struck an eastbound Suzuki XL-7 head-on and was subsequently hit by an eastbound Ford Escape. The Ford rolled onto its roof after impact with Quayle’s Mazda.

The driver of the Ford and the driver of the Suzuki, who have not been identified, sustained minor injuries. It is not clear whether they were transported anywhere for treatment. Quayle was transported to Southern Regional Medical Center with critical injuries. She was then transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where doctors discovered she had been shot in the neck.

Clayton County Police believe Quayle was shot before the wreck occurred, and the gunshot might have been what caused her to drive into oncoming traffic. Quayle’s family took her off of life support on October 11 and set up a GoFundMe page to raise donations for a memorial service.

“We just have so many unanswered questions,” said Quayle’s sister, Kayleigh Martin. “I just want to know who did this. She didn’t deserve this. Please let us know if you saw anything.”

Clayton County Police are continuing to investigate and do not have any suspects at this time. Anyone with potential information about the incident is encouraged to call CrimeStoppers at (404) 577-8477.
