Less than two months ago, a deadly bus crash occurred in New Mexico, when a Greyhound bus and a semi-truck collided head-on.

The collision occurred in the afternoon on August 30 on Interstate 40, about 100 miles from Albuquerque, New Mexico. A semi-truck traveling eastbound on I-40 reportedly blew a tire, and the driver lost control. The semi-truck veered across the center median of the roadway and into the westbound lanes of travel, striking a Greyhound passenger bus head-on.

Video from the scene showed the semi-truck overturned across the median and spread across both westbound lanes of I-40. Its contents were littered about the interstate. The bus was shown with a huge hole in the front end. A total of 49 passengers were on the bus, not including the driver, according to a statement from Greyhound. The bus was traveling from Albuquerque to Phoenix, Arizona, then to Los Angeles, California. Seven people were confirmed dead at this time, and dozens more were injured.
