Limousine Driver Who Crashed Killing 20 Was Not Properly Licensed

October 20, 2018

USA- The writes that the driver who was operating the limousine that crashed last Saturday, October 6, 2018,was driving without having the necessary license to operate the vehicle. The company that owned the limousine, Prestige Limousine, has been ordered to close while the crash is under investigation.*

The company’s owner was reportedly an informant for the FBI who reported about a terrorist plot aimed at an Air Force base and two synagogues.

The vehicle was inspected by the New York State DMV one month ago and failed the inspection. The limousine was considered “unfit for operation.” One of the victims who died in the crash sent a text message just moments before her death. The message stated that the vehicle was in “terrible condition.”

There were 18 people in the limousine when it crashed. The group of friends had originally been taking a bus, but that vehicle broke down. The limousine was sent to replace the bus. The crowded vehicle went through an intersection and failed to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle then smashed into a parked SUV killing all 18 people in the vehicle and two pedestrians.

Many details surrounding the tragic accident have still not been answered. The authorities would not say whether the occupants were using their seatbelts, whether the vehicle’s brakes failed or whether the driver was speeding at the time of the collision.

Investigators could determine the direction that the vehicle had been traveling before the crash. The street’s speed limit was 50 miles per hour.

The crash was the worst transportation accident in nearly ten years.
