Dump Truck Driver Charged in Connection with Fatal Rhode Island Crash

PROVIDENCE, RI. – October 9, 2018 (ccenterdispatch.com) A man from Providence, Rhode Island, has been criminally charged in connection with a fatal vehicle collision that occurred October 8, according to an online news report from ccenterdispatch.com.*

Dump Truck Driver Charged in Connection with Fatal Rhode Island Crash 

Police say 25-year-old Brian Pagan Torres, of Providence, was driving a small dump truck for a landscaping company at approximately 12:30 a.m. in Providence. Torres struck another vehicle, killing the driver and severely injuring the passenger. The driver of the second vehicle was 28-year-old Frank Perry Jr. The passenger was not identified, and his or her current medical condition is not known. 

A third vehicle was also reportedly involved, according to police, but it is not clear whether anyone in this vehicle was injured. Torres was reportedly injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment after the crash. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear at this time. 

Torres was arrested and criminally charged in connection with the collision. The list of charges against him was not reported. He was scheduled to be arraigned October 9 in a Providence court.
