Three Injured in Dade County, GA, Crash on I-24

October 15, 2018

DADE COUNTY, GA. – October 11, 2018 ( Three people were injured October 10 in a vehicle crash on Interstate 24 in Dade County, Georgia, according to an online news story from*

At approximately 7:45 p.m. on October 11, the driver of a Ford F-450 truck lost control of the vehicle on Interstate 24 East and slammed into a guardrail. The F-450 was hauling another pickup at the time, and the second pickup disconnected from the F-450 on impact with the guardrail and spun into the right lane of I-20 East, while the F-450 spun into the left lane.

An eastbound tractor-trailer then struck both the F-450 and the second pickup. The tractor-trailer skidded off the road, hit a guardrail and jackknifed. The F-450 and the second pickup spun again after impact with the tractor-trailer. The F-450 collided with the tractor-trailer a second time before finally coming to a stop.

The driver of the F-450, Christopher Scott (age and city not reported), was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries. His current medical condition is not known. A spokesperson with Georgia State Patrol said Scott has been charged with failure to maintain a lane and use of safety belts in passenger vehicles.

A passenger in the F-450 and the driver of the tractor-trailer were also transported to nearby hospitals with unknown injuries. Neither has been identified, and their current conditions are not known.

Georgia State Patrol is investigating the collision and has not yet released additional information. It is not clear what caused Scott to lose control of the F-450.
