Tennessee Driver Arrested in Connection with Death of Former Georgia Resident

October 15, 2018

CHATTANOOGA, TN. – October 11, 2018 (wrcbtv.com) According to an online news report from wrcbtv.com, police in Tennessee have made an arrest in connection with a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run collision. The victim was a former resident of Atlanta, Georgia.*

The incident occurred on September 24 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Shortly before 8:30 p.m. that day, someone called 911 and reported a body in a culvert on Lee Highway. Authorities identified the victim as 37-year-old Aneitra Kincy and found she had been struck and killed by a vehicle. Kincy was a resident of Chattanooga and former resident of Atlanta.

Preliminary investigation led officials to believe a Lincoln Town Car was involved in the incident, and authorities asked for help from the public in locating the missing vehicle and driver. The anonymous tips that followed assisted authorities in tracking down 49-year-old Korey L. Reeves. Reeves was arrested October 10 and charged with leaving the scene involving a fatality, failure to render aid, and failure to report an accident. He is scheduled to appear in court on November 6.

Friends of Kincy recently held a candlelight vigil in memory of her and described her as a kindhearted woman who was committed to helping others. She worked to spread faith through her community, friends said, and she offered to pray with anyone who needed help.

“She could see into your soul and see the things you needed help with or prayers,” said Kincy’s friend Becky Lacy. “She was always willing to pray. She was always an advocate. It’s just so heartbreaking. It’s just so heartbreaking how her life ended.”
