WINFIELD, KS. – October 10, 2018 (kake.com) According to an online news report from kake.com, a woman from Georgia was among the victims of a double fatality vehicle accident that occurred October 10 near Winfield, Kansas.*

At approximately 7:15 a.m. on October 10, 22-year-old Timothy Call, of Cedar Vale, Kansas, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck westbound on U.S. 160 near Winfield. In the area of 141st Road, Call crossed the centerline of the roadway and struck a 2004 Ford pickup head-on.

The driver of the Ford, 64-year-old Geraldine Patrick, of Shell Knob, Missouri, was transported to Wesley Medical Center with critical injuries. She died at the hospital. A passenger in the Ford was a woman from Georgia: 58-year-old Patricia Blake, of Dallas, Georgia. Blake died at the scene.

It is not yet clear what caused Call to cross the centerline. He was transported to William Newton Hospital, where a blood draw was performed under the discretion of probable cause. Shortly before the accident, the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a male in a pickup truck driving erratically in the area of the Bolack Corner, close to the site of the crash. The results of the blood analysis are pending.

The accident closed a portion of U.S. 160 in both directions for more than an hour. Authorities in Cowley County are continuing to investigate the accident and have not yet released additional information. It is not clear whether Call will face charges in connection with the crash or the deaths of Patrick and Blake.
