GWINNETT COUNTY, GA. – September 20, 2018 (ajc.com) As reported online by ajc.com, a woman has been arrested and charged after causing a fatal collision September 19 on Interstate 85 in Gwinnett County, Georgia.*

At approximately 7 a.m. on September 19, Irma Garcia-Cambero (age and city not reported) was driving north on Interstate 85 in Gwinnett County. Near Pleasant Hill Road, she attempted to change lanes in front of a tractor-trailer and lost control of her vehicle. Her vehicle spun around, and the tractor-trailer crashed into rear passenger’s side of her vehicle.

The collision killed a passenger riding in the backseat of Garcia-Cambero’s vehicle, 41-year-old Adela Morales Sanchez, of Atlanta. Reports indicate three other people were injured in the crash, but it is not clear who. Their injuries are reportedly non-life threatening. The collision blocked traffic on I-85 during rush-hour, from 7 a.m. until about 10 a.m.

Gwinnett County authorities arrested Garcia-Cambero and charged her with second-degree vehicular homicide, failure to maintain a lane, and driving without a valid license. It is not clear at this time how the accident occurred. The investigation is ongoing.
