Two Teens Killed in Coffee County, GA, Wreck

September 16, 2018

COFFEE COUNTY, GA. – September 10, 2018 (walb.com) According to an online news report from walb.com, two teenagers died in a vehicle wreck September 8 in Coffee County, Georgia.*

At approximately 4:30 p.m. on September 8, a Mazda pickup truck was traveling on Broxton West Green Highway in Coffee County. At the intersection with Cross Road, a Ford Focus ran a stop sign and began crossing Broxton Green Highway, traveling into the path of the Mazda. The two vehicles then collided.

Two passengers in the Focus, 18-year-old Reba Creamer, of Douglas, Georgia, and a 13 year old, died in the collision. The name of the 13 year old has been released but withheld from this article because of age and privacy concerns. Georgia State Patrol Troopers indicate neither Creamer nor the 13-year-old passenger was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Focus and the driver of the Mazda have not been identified. It is not clear whether they, or anyone else in the Mazda, were injured. Georgia State Patrol says the driver of the Focus is under investigation for running the stop sign at the intersection. The Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team of the Valdosta, Georgia, State Patrol unit is investigating the crash at this time and has not released additional information.

Atkinson County Schools said the 13 year old was an eighth grader at Atkinson County Middle School and that Creamer was a former Pearson Elementary School student. In a Facebook Post, Superintendent Bob Brown said the community was “greatly saddened” by the loss of the two teens and was extending its sympathy and prayers, along with counseling support, to those affected by the incident.
