September 11, 2018

MARIETTA, GA. – September 10, 2018 ( An ambulance struck a male pedestrian September 6 as he was walking across Cobb Parkway in Marietta, Georgia, according to an online news report from*

At approximately 10:30 a.m., 32-year-old Jeremy Conley, of Marietta, attempted to cross Cobb Parkway in Marietta, near the intersection with Kennestone Circle. As he entered the roadway, a 2014 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 2500 traveling westbound on Cobb Parkway struck him. The Mercedes was owned by Metro Ambulance Service.

The ambulance reportedly had a green light at the intersection, and Conley was not crossing in a crosswalk. The driver of the ambulance, 24-year-old Kayla Williams, of Woodstock, Georgia, and a passenger in the ambulance, 26-year-old Logan Rogers, of Acworth, Georgia, were not injured in the accident and immediately exited the vehicle. They both then began rendering aid to Conley.

Conley was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where he is reportedly in the intensive care unit. His injuries are serious but not expected to be life-threatening. No information has been released about his current condition or when he might be discharged from the hospital. It is not clear whether Williams and Rogers were traveling to a call for emergency services at the time of the incident. It does not appear the vehicle’s lights or sirens were running at the time.

Upon preliminary investigation, Cobb County Police believe alcohol was a factor in the collision, and they expect charges will be filed. The accident remains under investigation, and Cobb County Police have not yet released additional details. Investigators are asking anyone who might have potential information about the crash to call the Cobb County Police Department’s STEP Unit at (770) 499-3987.
