September 08, 2018

ATLANTA, GA. – August 31, 2018 (11alive.com) A wreck involving a truck and an SUV tied up traffic August 31 in the Downtown Connector of Atlanta, leading into one of the busiest traveling weekends of the year. The story is reported online by 11alive.com.*

The crash reportedly occurred shortly before 6 a.m. on August 31 on southbound Interstate 75/Interstate 85. Georgia State Patrol indicates 55-year-old Kelly McBride, of Clermont, Georgia, was driving a Toyota 4Runner and attempted to exit onto Martin Luther King Jr Drive, when she traveled into the path of a Ford F-150. McBride’s 4Runner struck the F-150 then flipped, after which the F-150 pushed the 4Runner into the guardrail.

McBride was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. She is facing one count of improper lane change. The driver of the F-150, who has not been identified, was not injured. The accident blocked two lanes and closed down the exit ramp to Martin Luther King Jr Drive.
