Vehicle Accident Reported Near Chick-fil-A in Columbus, GA

COLUMBUS, GA. – August 29, 2018 ( According to an online news story from, a vehicle accident occurred August 29 near a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Columbus, Georgia.*

The accident happened around 6 p.m. on August 29 in front of the Chick-fil-A on Bradley Park Drive in Columbus, according to police. It is not clear how many vehicles were involved or whether anyone was injured. The cause and nature of the accident were not reported. Authorities advised drivers to use caution when passing through the area. 

On the same day, another vehicle accident occurred in front of a Chick-fil-A in Georgia. This crash occurred at approximately noon on August 29 on Ga. 138, near the Chick-fil-A restaurant in Conyers, Georgia (about three hours from Columbus). Sgt. Kim Lucas, a spokesperson for the Conyers Police Department, said the collision occurred when an SUV turned in front of a tractor-trailer. The driver of the tractor-trailer swerved to try to avoid an impact, then crashed into two other vehicles and a utility pole in the Chick-fil-A parking lot.

No one was seriously injured in the crash, but the collision disrupted power service for the traffic lights on the road and for several businesses, including Chick-fil-A and Intown Suites, for almost eight hours. None of the people involved in the crash has been identified. Two people complained of minor injuries, but it is not clear whether they required any treatment. 

It is not clear what caused the SUV to turn into the path of the tractor-trailer. The Conyers Police Department is investigating the crash and has not yet released additional information. Officials have not indicated whether anyone will be cited or charged.
