GWINNETT COUNTY, GA. – August 23, 2018 (gwinnettdailypost.com) According to an online news report from gwinnettdailypost.com, the driver involved in an August 23 crash outside of a Gwinnett County elementary school has been identified.*

The crash occurred at approximately 7:15 a.m. at the intersection of Ridge Road and South Puckett Road in Buford, Georgia. This intersection is outside of Ivey Creek Elementary School. Police say 78-year-old Mun Seo was driving a Kia Sedona and attempted to make a U-turn at the intersection, then was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on South Puckett Road. An 8-year-old boy in the Kia with Seo was ejected and suffered serious injuries.

Gwinnett County Police believe the boy is a student at Ivey Creek. He was transported to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta-Egleston, where he is reportedly in critical condition but is expected to survive. Police indicated he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 32-year-old woman who has not been identified, was reportedly injured in the accident but took herself to a hospital at a later time. Her two young children were in the car with her at the time of the crash, and they were not injured.

According to data collected by the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, numerous vehicle accidents occur in Gwinnett County every year.
