FORSYTH COUNTY, GA— A woman from Forsyth County, Georgia died in a horrible vehicle crash on Saturday, August 18, 2018, according to the Forsyth News. The woman who passed away from her injuries was the operator of a sports utility vehicle that struck a tree. Deputies with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office responded to an emergency call directly them to Shady Grove Road, not too far from Holland Road, in the northeast section of Forsyth County. Upon arrival, deputies found a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer with substantial damage. The Blazer had flipped over. Deputies rushed to the aid of the occupants of the Blazer and found the driver and a passenger trapped.

The driver, 58-year-old Cynthia Jane Staggs from Cumming, GA, died from her injuries. Stagg’s 4-year-old passenger went to the Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Emergency personnel did what they could to save thelife of Ms. Stagg. They transported her to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Tragically, she died at the hospital. Sheriff’s deputies suspect that speed played a role in the fatal crash. Deputies believe that Staggs was driving southerly at a high rate of speed around a bend on Shady Grove Road, near PWA Drive. At that point, she lost control over her SUV and went off of the road. Deputies believe that the SUV flipped over and then crashed into a tree in the vicinity of Holland Drive.

However, that could change if the law enforcement investigation leads to another driver who may have contributed to the crash.
