Two People Trapped on Bungee Ride in Branson, Missouri

August 20, 2018

BRANSON, MO. – (wsbradio.com) According to an online news story from wsbradio.com, two people were trapped on a bungee ride in Branson, Missouri.*

The two people were on a bungee ride at Branson Frontier Adventures and became trapped 100 feet in the air on a bungee ride. Firefighters in Branson climbed the towers of the ride and rescued both people without incident, according to reports. No one was injured, but the people were stranded for about two hours.

It is not clear how the people became trapped. News reports say the ride had a mishap of some kind. Neither person involved has been identified.

The incident comes less than a month after a duck boat accident in Branson killed 17 people. The boat accident occurred around 7 p.m. on July 19, when a line of severe thunderstorms moved through the Branson area. Thirty-one people were on board a duck boat (an amphibious tour vehicle) on Table Rock Lake, and the boat capsized during high winds. Windspeeds were as high as 63 mph at a nearby airport, according to the National Weather Service.

Divers searched for victims the night of the accident and the next day. By the end of the day on July 20, all 31 people on board the boat were accounted for, and 17 people were reported dead. Nine of the deceased were members of the same family from Indiana, who were visiting Branson on an annual family trip. The boat’s driver was also killed, but the captain of the boat survived. The 14 survivors were all transported to nearby medical facilities with injuries.
