Tragic Two- Car Accident in Valdosta, Georgia Claims One Life

Valdosta-The Valdosta Daily Times is reporting that a man tragically died in a car crash. Witnesses reported the accident around 10:30 p.m. Troopers from the Georgia State Patrol are investigating the violent two-car collision severelyinjured at least one other person in addition to killing the young man. Criminal charges could issue against one of the drivers in the incident when Troopers complete the accident reconstruction report.*

The person who died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the crash was18-year-old Kristofer Foster. Foster was a recent graduate of Lowndes County High School and a football player. 

According to the preliminary report issued by Georgia State Patrol troopers who responded to the scene, Foster was driving a Honda Accord westerly on Oak Street Extension in Lowndes County. Foster had a passenger in the vehicle with him. The troopers did not release the name or age of the passenger. A 2012 Acura driven by a 21-year-old woman traveled northerly on Lake Laurie Drive. She had two passengers with her.

The troopers did not describe their preliminary findings as to the cause of the accident. They did indicate that emergency personnel pronounced Foster dead at the crash site. His injured passenger had to be evacuated by MedFlight to a hospital in Tallahassee, Florida for treatment of traumatic injuries. The hospital listed him in serious condition.

All three young women went to the hospital with minor injuries. The current medical status of the four people injured in the crash is not known at this time. 

Georgia State Patrol Troopers did not make an immediate arrest. They are awaiting the results of the Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team to complete their final report.
