Georgia State Patrol indicates the crash happened in the afternoon on Ga. 20/U.S. 411 in Bartow County. Near Macedonia Road at the Etowah River Bridge, the driver of a Jeep turned out in front of a pickup truck. The pickup truck was traveling westbound on U.S. 411, and the Jeep crossed into its path turning from Macedonia Road. Following the impact, the Jeep drove down an embankment, and the pickup truck traveled into the median.

According to Georgia State Patrol, the drivers of both vehicles had to be extricated. The driver of the Jeep was airlifted to Cartersville Medical Center. The driver of the pickup truck and a passenger in the pickup were transported to Floyd Medical Center. Both the pickup driver and passenger were conscious when emergency responders arrived, but they reportedly could not tell officers what happened.

Authorities have now identified the driver of the Jeep as Logan Paulsen, of Dallas, Texas. He was originally to be airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital, but his condition worsened in flight, so he was flown to Cartersville Medical Center. His current medical condition has not been reported. At the time of his transport, Troopers did not know if he would survive.

The driver of the pickup truck and the passenger have also been identified as Arthur Miller and Lynn Miller, husband and wife from Rome, Georgia. They are reportedly both still in the hospital.

Georgia State Patrol is continuing to investigate the collision and has not released additional information. No citations have been issued, given the uncertainty of Paulsen’s condition.
