Three Injured in Bartow County, Georgia Vehicle Accident

BARTOW COUNTY, GA. – July 26, 2018 (patch.com) Three people were injured July 25 in a vehicle accident in Bartow County, Georgia, according to an online news story from patch.com.*

Georgia State Patrol indicates the crash happened in the afternoon of July 25 on Ga. 20/U.S. 411 in Bartow County. Near Macedonia Road at the Etowah River Bridge, the driver of a Jeep turned out in front of a pickup truck. The pickup truck was traveling westbound on U.S. 411, and the Jeep crossed into its path turning from Macedonia Road. Following the impact, the Jeep drove down an embankment, and the pickup truck traveled into the median. 

The drivers of both vehicles had to be extricated, according to Georgia State Patrol. The driver of the Jeep was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital with critical injuries. There were no passengers in the Jeep. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to Floyd Medical Center. There was one passenger in the pickup truck, and he or she was also transported to Floyd Medical Center. Both the truck driver and passenger were conscious when emergency responders arrived. 

None of the people involved in the collision has been identified. Current medical conditions are not known at this time. Georgia State Patrol indicated it was not clear whether the driver of the Jeep would survive. 

U.S. 411/Ga. 20 was closed in both directions to allow emergency response and Troopers to clear the scene. The highway opened back up later in the day. Georgia State Patrol is continuing to investigate the collision and has not released additional information at this time.
