Woman Killed in Acworth Crash was Teacher, Supposed to be Married in 2 Months

ACWORTH, GA. – July 26, 2018 ( A woman killed in a head-on collision in Acworth, Georgia, was reportedly a third-grade teacher who was about to be married in two months. The story is reported online at*

At approximately 7:42 p.m., 24-year-old Allison Anne Carroll, of Powder Springs, Georgia, was driving a 2014 Ford Escape northbound on Mars Hill Road in Acworth, Georgia. Near Newpark Drive, a southbound 2010 Toyota Corolla crossed the centerline of the roadway and crashed into Carroll’s Escape head-on. The driver of the Toyota, 20-year-old Braden Price, of Hiram, Georgia, reportedly lost control of the vehicle prior to the collision. 

Carroll was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. A 17-year-old girl who was riding in the Toyota, Ashley Bratton, of Acworth, also died from the injuries she sustained in the crash. 

At the time of the collision, Carroll was about to start another school year with a new class of third-graders at Dowell Elementary School in Cobb County, Georgia. She was also just two months away from marrying her fiancé, Heath. Family and friends have started a GoFundMe account to help Heath pay for living expenses and counseling as he copes with the loss of his soon-to-be wife. 

“For all those who knew her, it’s no exaggeration to say she was they sweetest person they knew,” the donation page says of Carroll. “She was light-hearted, warm, kind to everyone, and was especially loyal to her friends and family. She constantly sought out ways to serve and care for those around her.”
