Georgia Authorities Still Searching for Driver Who Crashed into Pregnant Woman

CUMMING, GA. – July 26, 2018 ( According to an online article from, authorities in Forsyth County, Georgia, are still searching for a driver after he crashed into a pregnant woman’s vehicle and fled the scene.*

Sometime before 3 p.m. on July 21, a 26-year-old woman was traveling through Cumming, Georgia, when another vehicle struck hers. The driver of the other vehicle and two passengers with him exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. The woman, who has not been identified at this time, was eight months pregnant and was visibly injured when the suspects left the scene. 

Emergency responders transported the woman to a nearby hospital, where, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, she lost the baby. The woman’s current medical condition has not been reported. 

Authorities identified the driver who crashed into the woman as Nicolas Alonzo-Ramos. The whereabouts of Alonzo-Ramos are still unknown, and the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to search for him. Authorities are asking for help from the public in locating him and have offered a $2,000 reward to anyone who can provide information that leads to his arrest. The Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety reports that Forsyth County has seen a significant jump in vehicle accidents in the last several years. In 2012, a total of 39 vehicle accidents occurred in the county. By 2016, that number had grown to 5,911 accidents. However, while the total number of accidents has risen, the fatality rate has decreased. The 39 accidents in 2012 led to 22 deaths. In 2016, 11 people died in the 5,911 accidents.
