Pooler Parkway Closed Friday, July 13, 2018 to Reconstruct Fatal Accident
POOLER, GA – July 11, 2018 (hawaiinewsnow.com). According to an online news report at hawaiinewsnow.com, two people died in a car accident in Pooler, Georgia.*
Two individuals died in a car accident right in front of the Lowe’s store in Pooler, Georgia on Tuesday. Georgia State Patrol troopers have closed the northern lane of Pooler Parkway between Pine Barren Road and the Lowe’s store starting at 8:00 a.m. and expecting to last until 12:00 p.m. Detour signs have been placed around the area and police officers are redirecting traffic as needed. The accident occurred on Tuesday right around rush hour at approximately 4:00 p.m.
Detours were put into place during the time that accident was investigated. The crash occurred at 4:00 a.m.
The wreck occurred just before 4 p.m. on Pooler Parkway. The fatal accident resulted in the death of Peggy Padgett, aged fifty nine, from Guyton, Georgia, and Sherry Ward, aged seventy one. According to the Georgia State Patrol, the driver who was at fault was identified as Andrew Bowens, aged 37, from Clyo, Georgia.
According to the report, “troopers will pull information from Bowen's car tomorrow to figure out speed and other factors. Bowens is still in the hospital. Charges are pending at this time.“
