Woman Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Downtown Connector in Atlanta, Georgia

July 11, 2018

ATLANTA, GA- (CBS46) - According to a report by CBS 46, a woman was walking along the downtown connector near the Arthur B. Langford Parkway in Atlanta in the early morning hours when she was hit by a driver that left the scene of the crash.*

After the crash, two other people stopped to help the woman, who collapsed when she tried to walk. The woman sadly died from the injuries she sustained in the crash. According to police, other motorists stopped to help the woman, but to no avail. The female pedestrian was later pronounced dead by medical personnel. Authorities are investigating this crash as a hit-and-run, and as of the date of publication of the report on CBS 46, they were looking for any information that anyone might have regarding the fatal pedestrian crash.

Many hit and run drivers have been brought to justice after they leave the scene of a crash thanks to the efforts of witnesses and passers-by. Witnesses can provide valuable information that can be used in conjunction with any evidence that the suspect or their vehicle left at the crime scene to provide authorities with a complete picture of what happened and who might be responsible.

Sometimes, even people who were not at the accident scene can provide useful information to authorities after a hit and run crash. For example, if a witness can give a description of the vehicle, and the description gets publicized on the news, other people who may have seen the vehicle in the area after the driver committed the hit and run could provide valuable information about where and when they saw it.
