Two People are Dead in Sandy Springs Accident on Interstate 285
SANDY SPRINGS, GA – June 26, 2018 (patch.com)(ajc.com). According to online news reports at patch.com and ajc.com, two people are dead in an accident on I-285 that blocked five lanes of traffic on the westbound side of the interstate near the Northside Drive interchange.*
The accident impacted traffic for several hours in the metropolitan Atlanta area. Drivers attempted to avoid the accident on the Outer Loop at New Northside Drive, causing traffic delays on Interstate 75, Interstate 85, and Georgia Highway 400.
According to the online reports, “[a] passenger vehicle crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer slowing through the construction zone. Crews were wrapping an overnight project and collecting barrels around 5:15 a.m. just before the accident. Two people were killed.
