One Woman Dead After Car Overturns in Brooks County
BROOKS COUNTY, GA – April 16, 2018 (wctv.tv). According to wctv.tv, a woman has been identified who was involved in a fatal rollover accident that occurred in Brooks County in the evening of Monday, April 16, 2018.*
The site of the crash was along Cooper Road, which is one mile east of Robinson Road in Brooks County. The accident occurred at approximately 6:05 p.m. The police state that a sixty-year-old woman, Deborah Godfrey Simpson, from Barney, Georgia, was heading eastbound on Cooper Road in her 2006 Toyota Corolla where she did not properly maneuver a curve to the right of the road. Her vehicle then exited the roadway, striking a culvert and causing her car to flip before resting in a field. According to the Georgia State Patrol, Simpson was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and was tragically pronounced dead on the scene by the local medical examiner. It is not believed that Simpson was impaired by drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.
