Accident Attorneys Report on a Tragic Wrong-Way Crash on Interstate 75 Which Killed Two

Lowndes County, Ga., - Two people were identified by Georgia State Patrol after an early A.M., wrong-way crash on Interstate 75 in Lowndes County took their lives, according to WCTV. A luxury vehicle engineered by Lincoln, which was being driven by a male driver from Brooksville, Florida, was navigating in the wrong direction on the south facing side of I-75. Another vehicle involved in the incident was a Ford Explorer. It was driven on southbound I-75 by a 70-year old Tennessee resident.

The Lincoln initiated the crash, according to officers at the scene. A Silverado truck, made by Chevrolet, was also impacted by the collision. It was being driven by a resident of Plant City, Florida. It hit the Ford Explorer after it had skidded across the interstate into the driving lane. Two drivers were tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chevy Silverado and three passengers suffered minor injuries and were transported to the nearest medical center by ambulance.

The three lanes on the southbound direction of I-75 were closed for numerous hours as cleanup crews cleared the area of debris. Georgia State Patrol (GSP) says the reason why the reckless driver was driving in the wrong direction is still unknown.

A toxicology report is in the process of being made. However, GSP does not believe drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the incident. Police, at this time, feel that lack of sleep may have created the situation that led to the crash.

The Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team of the GSP is also involved in the crash inquiry. Criminal charges are not expected to be filed, according to authorities.
