Tragic, Fatal Car Accident on Hawkinsville Road in Macon, Georgia

According to the Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, he is working a double fatal car crash by Smiley's Flea Market on Hawkinsville Road. News reporters from wgxa.tv were sent to the accident scene to gather additional information about the deadly crash.

The Bibb County Coroner identified the two men who were tragically killed in the severe car accident. He identified them as a 57-year- old man from Jones County and a 20-year-old Macon man. Their names are being withheld to protect the privacy of the victims and their families.
Bibb County Sheriff's Deputies interviewed accident eyewitnesses. The accident witnesses stated that the driver of a white Honda Accord was traveling along Cochran Field Road and tried to cross Hawkinsville Road. As the Honda driver drove towards the northbound traffic lanes, the other driver was heading south in their black Acura RSX. The two cars then crashed on Hawkinsville Road. Both motor vehicles crossed over the median due to the accident forces.
Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones tragically pronounced both drivers deceased at the accident scene. According to Bibb County Coroner Jones, the men's next of kin were notified of the crash. This fatal motor vehicle crash is currently under investigation, and Macon-Bibb Sheriff's Office deputies are asking for eyewitnesses to come forward and provide their helpful information to the Bibb Sheriff's Office.
