NTSB Publishes Updates Concerning the Tragic, Fatal Airplane Accident in Lake Hartwell

November 01, 2022

HARTWELL, GEORGIA - An aviation accident news story published on foxcarolina.com reports that the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration have published new findings considering the fatal Lake Hartwell Beechcraft B55 crash.*

The airplane crash that occurred on September 10 took emergency crews five days to recover the pilot's body and the airplane's wreckage. The National Transportation Safety Board's aviation accident report states that the pilot's family informed investigators that he was flying to Georgia for a special event.

According to the new updates from the National Transportation Safety Board's report, the pilot attempted multiple landings at the Anderson Regional Airport. He was unable to land the airplane due to to a mechanical issue. The pilot reported to the air traffic controllers that he was having technical problems with the plane's gyros. Communication from the pilot halted just before the airplane crashed into Lake Hartwell at around 12:30 in the afternoon.

The airplane crash is currently under investigation, and the National Transportation Safety Board stated that severe instruments from the airplane were being examined by their investigators.

The National Transportation Safety Board will continue its fatal airplane accident investigation and issue media releases concerning updates and new findings. No additional details concerning the fatal airplane accident have been released at this time. Any witnesses to the aviation accident are urged to contact the National Transportation Safety Board.
