It was reported that the Tesla burst into flames following the crash. According to one eyewitness, they attempted to rescue a teenager from their wrecked Tesla. The bystander stated that he was "face-to-face" with the entrapped teen. He then attempted to crawl underneath the vehicle to try and rescue the occupants of the Tesla. The Tesla car then rolled over and caught on fire. The Tesla was traveling south on Federal Highway. The minivan was heading northbound on Federal Highway and was attempting to make a left turn at the intersection. The accident scene was covered in accident debris.
