Georgia College Student Tragically Killed In Plane Propeller Accident in Statesboro, Georgia
GEORGIA - According to an auto accident news story on theshaderoom.com, a Georgia student was tragically killed in a plane propeller accident.*
The report states that the young man rented a small Cessna airplane for a date, but he accidentally walked into the plane's propeller and was tragically killed.
The young man from Nigeria had flown 58 miles with his date for a romantic dinner in the city of Savannah. However, the accident occurred back in Statesboro, where the students lived. The report states that the 21-year-old man was flying with his date and two pilots the young man knew when he was struck in the head by the plane’s propeller. The news report also stated that after the airplane's doors opened, the female stepped out and walked toward the rear of the airplane. However, the victim walked toward the front of the airplane and was hit twice in the head by the propeller.
Tragically, the young college student did not survive the incident and was declared deceased at the Statesboro-Bulloch County Airport. The victim was killed instantly, according to Jake Futch, the Bulloch County Coroner.
News outlets reported that the victim was a sophomore and majored in management. Georgia Southern’s Dean of Students, Dr. Aileen C. Dowell, issued a statement saying, “we were deeply saddened to hear about the traffic incident that involved one of our students Sunday night.”
An accident investigation is being handled by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration. Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office Captain Todd Hutchens reported that this was an accident and the plane did not move while the tragic incident happened and the incident happened where planes were parked.
