Tragic, Fatal 18-Wheeler Accident on West Quaker Road in Prince Georges

PRINCE GEORGE  - According to an auto accident news story on, a tragic, fatal semi-tractor trailer truck crashed into a car, tragically killing the vehicle driver.*

The truck driver is now facing criminal charges. The 33-year-old truck driver from Lawrenceville, Georgia, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, according to Prince George's Police Office. The trucker is being held at Riverside Regional Jail.

The news report states that the victim, a 37-year-old woman from Prince George, sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash that occurred at the intersection of Wells Station and West Quaker roads. According to Prince George's Police reports, the victim was driving along West Quaker Road when the 18-wheeler truck, driving along Wells Station Road, struck the woman's cat in the intersection. The news report states that all traffic on West Quaker Road has the right-of-way through the intersection.

The fatal truck accident occurred at approximately 10:45 AM last Thursday.

An 18-month-old child who was inside the victim's car survived the truck accident. The toddler was properly restrained in a safety seat in the backseat of the vehicle. The child was transported to a Petersburg hospital as a precaution and was examined by emergency medical personnel. 

The truck driver was not hurt in the collision. Prince George's Police stated that an investigation into the fatal trucking accident is ongoing. The news report will be updated as additional information is received. The truck accident scene was closed off as emergency rescue crews and law enforcement worked the crash.
