Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Accident in DeKalb County, Georgia

DEKALB COUNTY, GEORGIA - According to a news report published on fox5atlanta.com, the DeKalb County Police are investigating a severe hit-and-run motorcycle accident on North Hairston Road in DeKalb County, Georgia.*

The news story states that the injured motorcyclist was transported to a local area hospital for emergency medical treatment. The motorcycle operator appears to have survived the motorcycle accident but sustained severe accident-related injuries. The victim of the hit-and-run motorcycle accident explained that he wanted the hit-and-run driver to be arrested and prosecuted.  

The DeKalb County Police are currently investigating this hit-and-run motorcycle accident that sent the motorcyclist to the hospital. He told reporters that he felt lucky to be alive after the collision. The motorcyclist stated that he was aware of other hit-and-run accidents throughout Metro Atlanta, and he did not think he would be harmed in a hit-and-run accident. He also warned others that tomorrow is not promised and crashed like his can happen.

The accident victim stated that he was close to his home when he was struck by the hit-and-run driver. 

The DeKalb County Police stated that the crash happened at around 10 PM. The hit-and-run driver's vehicle was described as a tan-colored sedan. The hit-and-run driver allegedly swerved into the victim's motorcycle along North Hairston Road. After he was hit, he was thrown off of his motorcycle. He sustained injuries to his right leg.

An eyewitness to the accident stated to police that the driver of the sedan slowed down after the collision but then fled the crash. An ambulance then transported the victim to a local area hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries. He needs a cane to walk around. The victim hopes law enforcement will catch the driver who is responsible or that the driver will turn themself into law enforcement.

The motorcycle accident victim stated that an eyewitness was able to provide law enforcement with a description of the hit-and-run vehicle. However, no license plate number was seen or captured on camera. This motorcycle accident news report is still developing and will be updated as additional information is released.
