Tragic, Deadly Car Accident on Harmony Road in Putnam County, Georgia

The exact location of the severe motor vehicle accident was Harmony Road at the intersection of Scott Road. According to Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills, a Putnam County Sheriff's deputy was on patrol at around 8:05 in the morning when he witnessed a two-vehicle crash.
The Putnam County Sheriff's Office preliminary accident investigation states that a 26-year-old Eatonton man was operating a Kia Optima. The Kia driver was heading eastbound on Harmony Road. At some point, the driver crossed over the center line and traveled into the westbound traffic lane, and struck a BMW 335 head-on. The BMW 335 driver, a 26-year-old Eatonton man, was seriously injured. He was taken to the emergency room at Putnam General Hospital. The driver of the Kia was also transported to the hospital, but he tragically passed away after he arrived.
The driver of the BMW 335 was air evacuated by helicopter to Atrium Health Navicent in Macon, Georiga. His injuries were life-threatening, and police stated that the victim was unable to communicate with Sheriff's deputies at the accident scene. There are no reports on his medical condition.
