Alleged Drunk Driver Drives in the Wrong Direction Causing a Fatal Accident on I-75 in Atlanta, Georgia

ATLANTA, GEORGIA - An accident news article published on reports that a severe car accident was reported last Sunday night.*

The automobile accident occurred along Interstate 75 southbound. According to the report, the crash tragically killed one person. Atlanta Police officers explained to the news reporters that one driver was driving in the wrong direction when he collided head-on with another vehicle causing that driver to pass away. 

Atlanta Police reported that the fatal wrong-way car accident occurred at approximately 11:56 in the evening. Police and emergency medical crews responded to the two-vehicle collision at I-75/85 southbound and North Ave. The car accident victim, who was operating the motor vehicle that was traveling southbound on I-75, was tragically pronounced deceased at the accident scene.

The preliminary accident investigation report states that a 30-year-old driver was moving the wrong way resulting in a head-on crash.

The wrong-way driver was transported to a local area hospital and has been listed as in critical medical condition. However, the driver's condition is stable, according to Atlanta Police.

The wrong-way driver has been criminally charged with Driving Under the Influence, Reckless Driving, Homicide by Vehicle, and Driving in the Wrong Direction.

According to the accident report, the name of the accident victim was not made public by Atlanta Police at this time. An ongoing accident investigation is continuing, and the news report will provide any new updates once additional information has been received. The accident scene closed down traffic in the area while emergency medical crews and law enforcement offices handled the accident and tended to the victims.
