Wrong-Way Accident in Washington County May Have Involved a Drunk Driving

The Washington County Sheriff's Office stated that their deputies were investigating the fatal crash. The Washington County Sheriff's Office Facebook page stated that the fatal crash occurred on Highway 88 (Fall Line Freeway) last Saturday night. Georgia State Patrol troopers reported that a man from Statham, Georgia, was driving in the wrong direction on Highway 88 for about two miles. He then collided with the other vehicle, and troopers reported that they found an open liquor bottle in the wrong-way driver's car. The victim, a man from Sandersville, was tragically killed in the head-on crash.
