Tragic, Fatal Car Accident in Laurens County, Georgia

LAURENS COUNTY, GEORGIA - According to a news report published on WGXA.TV, a tragic, fatal car accident occurred in Laurens County, Georgia.*

Several other people who were involved in the motor vehicle crash were hospitalized for treatment of accident-related injuries. The Georgia State Patrol reported that a driver operating a Ford F-150 was heading eastbound along Minter Tweed Road while the driver of a Ford F-450 each approached the intersection of Highway 29 and Minter Tweed Road. 

The report states that the driver of the F150 failed to stop at the intersection and was struck by the F-450 on the passenger side. Both pickup trucks then left the road. The F-150 struck several trees before crashing into a larger tree and was stopped. The F-450 turned over and onto the truck driver's side. Tragically, a 17-year-old East Laurens High School student was riding in the F150's back seat. He was tragically ejected from the pickup truck and was declared deceased at the accident scene.

Two other accident victims were air evacuated to the hospital, and the other four victims were transported to a local area hospital by ambulance. The names of the victims were not made public by law enforcement at this time. The accident is an active accident investigation, and the news story will be updated when more information has been received. 

Law enforcement will continue its fatal motor vehicle accident investigation. The area near the accident was shut down for many hours as emergency crews and law enforcement officers worked the accident scene and assisted EMS with the injured people. 

No additional details regarding the fatal car accident have been released at this time. All accident witnesses are urged to provide any helpful information they have about the crash. No criminal charges are being reported at this time.
