Georgia State Patrol Vehicle Crashes During a High-Speed Pursuit
CLAYTON COUNTY, GEORGIA - According to an online news report published on fox5atlanta.com, a Georgia State Patrol vehicle crashed in a ditch after pursuing a suspect operating a motorcyclist in Clayton County, Georgia.*
The Georgia Department of Public Safety reported that the Georgia State Patrol clocked a motorcyclist driving 78 MPH in a 55 MPH zone along State Route 3 by Talmadge Road in Clayton County. The GSP stated that the trooper turned on their emergency lights. However, the motorcyclist refused to stop for the trooper.
The motorcyclist then sped down a few county roads before the biker struck a guardrail along Noah's Ark Road. According to Georgia State Police, their troopers immediately exited their patrol vehicles, drew their weapons, and then ordered the motorcyclist to put their hands up. However, the motorcyclist resumed fleeing law enforcement by heading southbound on South Main Street and into oncoming traffic.
The Georgia State Troopers continued their chase, and one of the leading GSP cruisers struck two other motor vehicles. One of the GSP vehicles crashed into a ditch while trying to navigate a turn. The Georgia State Troopers had at least one of their GSP vehicles towed from a ditch. According to the report, the motorcyclist was able to elude police.

The accident scene was shut down for several hours as emergency crews and Georgia State Police managed the accident and assisted the injured victims. There are no more facts concerning the accident.
