Severe Car Accident on I-75 South at Main Street in Cartersville, Georgia
GEORGIA - An auto accident news story published on northwestgeorgianews.com reports that Southbound I-75 traffic was delayed following a severe car accident.*

According to the news report, the GDOT traffic map displayed that the backup along I-75 South extended from the U.S. 411 intersection by Georgia 20 to Main Street at the Kroger Marketplace. The severe Monday morning crash blocked all southbound traffic lanes.
The Bartow County Fire and Emergency Services headquarters stated that the major I-75 South car accident occurred just south of Exit 290, and drivers were urged to find an alternate route around the crash scene.
Georgia DOT issued an accident warning stating that there was a major crash on I-75 South at Main Street, and all southbound traffic lanes were blocked with crash debris. GDOT also reported that the crash required a comprehensive clean-up, and the scene would be cleaned up by late morning. Motorists were also advised by GDOT to use these alternate routes:
- In Bartow, take U.S. 41 and then enter I-75 at LakePoint.
- In Floyd County, take Georgia Highway 101 to U.S. Highway 278 if driving to the airport or downtown Atlanta. If traveling into Cartersville, take on U.S. 41 after the merge with Highway 411.
