Two People Were Tragically Killed in an Airplane Crash in Volusia County, Florida

VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA - A news report published on wftv.com states that two people were tragically killed in an airplane accident near Osteen last Wednesday.*

According to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, deputies answered the airplane accident 911 call. The plane crashed in the area of Lopez Road and Pell Road east of Lake Ashby. The airplane went down in the woods in a remote area.

Volusia County Sheriff's Office deputies reported that the small airplane crashed near the Wireglass Prairie Preserve. The airplane left Spruce Creek at around 4:30 PM and crashed about seven minutes after takeoff. Federal Aviation Administrationmembers of the Federal Aviation Administration and Volusia County Sheriff's Office deputies were working the plane accident for several hours. NTSB and FAA investigators are trying to ascertain what caused the plane crash.

FAA records state that the airplane was registered to a company in Georgia. The identities of the victims were not made public by law enforcement.
