Tragic, Fatal 18-wheeler Accident on I-75 in Sandy Springs, Georgia
MONROE COUNTY, GEORGIA - According to an online accident news story published on 11alive.com, a crash involving two tractor-trailer trucks caused the death of one truck driver.*
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office states that its deputies responded to the I-75 northbound truck accident. When they arrived at the accident scene, they observed one 18-wheeler truck blocking two lanes I-75 traffic lanes.
As the Monroe County Sheriff's Office deputies worked the trucking accident scene, 911 dispatchers contacted Sheriff's deputies about a second crash involving three tractor-trailer trucks. This second truck accident occurred just south of the first trucking crash and near the state weigh station along I-75. Monroe County Sheriff's Office deputies reported that an 18-wheeler tractor-trailer truck had rear-ended another, and one of the truck drivers tragically died in the rear-end collision. The victim was from Cobb County.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office will complete the 18-wheeler tractor-trailer truck accident investigations. The areas around the truck accidents were closed down as emergency crews and law enforcement officers managed the motorcycle accident and tended to the accident victims.
There were no additional details concerning the trucking accidents released at this time. The trucking accidents are currently under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. All truck accident eyewitnesses are asked to speak with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office to provide any helpful information that they may have. The identities of those involved in the truck accident have not been made public at this time. No criminal charges have been reported.
