Three Indiana State University Students Were Tragically Killed in a Severe Car Accident in Terre Haute, Indiana
TERRE HAUTE, INDIANA - According to an online accident news story published on fox5atlanta.com, Indiana State University confirmed the tragic death of three Indiana State University students.*
A media release from the university's athletics department reported that five occupants were in the motor vehicle when it crashed. Some of the injured were Indiana State University Football players. Law enforcement officers are currently working to identify the three accident victims who passed away.
Vigo County Sheriff John Plasse stated that the fatal motor vehicle accident happened at around 1:30 AM in Riley, Indiana. The motor vehicle veered off of the road and struck a tree. The vehicle was on fire when Vigo County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived at the accident scene. Two passengers inside the vehicle were freed from the car. They are now being treated for severe accident-related injuries. The driver and two passengers were tragically pronounced deceased at the accident scene.
According to University President Deborah J. Curtis, the crash was a "terrible tragedy."
There were no additional details about the fatal accident. The fatal crash is under investigation by the Vigo County Sheriff's Office. Accident witnesses are asked to speak with the Vigo County Sheriff's Office to provide any helpful information that they have. The names of the victims involved in the accident have not to been made public.
