Major Car Accident at Coleman Bridge Road and Quattlebaum Road in Augusta, Georgia

AUGUSTA, GEORGIA - A news report published on wrdw.com states that county coroners released the names of four people who were tragically killed in an Aiken County accident and an Emanuel County crash.* The two car accidents were among severe collisions that tragically killed nine people in the area.

In Emanual County, three people riding in a van were tragically killed last Wednesday. The van crashed with an 18-wheeler in Stillmore, Georgia. The report states that the van entered the traffic lane of the approaching truck. They victims were identified as:

  • A 45-year-old man from Appling County.
  • A 63-year-old man from Montgomery County
  • A 44-year-old man from from Toombs County

According to Coroner Jeffrey Peebles, the Stillmore accident occurred at around 6 AM at Georgia Highway 57 and Poplar Avenue. Peebles reported that the van was heading northbound when it drove into the path of the large truck. Three people tragically passed away at the accident scene. Another victim was transported to the Augusta University Medical Center trauma unit.

Georgia State Patrol is currently investigating the fatal collision.

In Aiken County, the Aiken County Coroner identified the individual who was tragically killed in a Sunday wreck. The crash happened on Sunday at 6:15 PM. The report states that an SUV overturned and collided with an electrical pole, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The accident caused one of the vehicles to catch fire. The driver was identified as 22- year-old Aiken man.
