New Details Released Concerning Airplane Accident That Tragically Killed Georgia Couple from Hartwell, Georgia

August 04, 2022

GEORGIA - An accident news report published on wyff4.com states that Federal accident investigators have issued a new report with additional details concerning the tragic, fatal aviation accident in Buffalo, Wyoming.*

The airplane accident tragically took the lives of a couple from Georgia. The preliminary aviation accident report issued this week by the National Transportation and Safety Board stated that the accident happened at around 12:30 PM.

According to the report, the Cessna P210N was on a personal flight and tragically killed two people. The report also stated that the Recorded Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast data revealed that the plane that left Powell Municipal Airport (POY) in Powell, Wyoming, was heading southeast and ascended to 17,450 feet. The last few minutes of the flight were described as the airplane staying at that altitude for 9 minutes, 17 seconds until the plane dipped to 15,400 feet for another 12 seconds. The data indicated that approximately 2 seconds later, the airplane climbed to 15,575 feet and then descended to 14,500 feet prior to crashing.

Fire and rescue crews reacted to reports of a wildfire and discovered the wrecked airplane about 14 miles from the Johnson County Airport (BYG) in Buffalo, Wyoming. The report indicates that the crash wreckage was contained within a 30-yard by 50-yard area and was almost completely consumed by fire. There were no eyewitnesses to the accident. The report states that this is only preliminary information that is subject to change and could contain mistakes. All errors will be corrected when the final accident report has been finished.
