Rollover Car Accident on Georgia State Route 365 Injures Five People
GEORGIA - A news report posted on nowhabersham.com states that a severe car accident on Georgia State Route 365 injured five people. According to the report, the Habersham EMS transported the accident victims to a local area hospital.*
The crash occurred last Saturday afternoon along GA 365 North at Mt. Zion Road. At approximately 3:17 PM, the Habersham County E-911 directed emergency units to the accident scene in Alto. The accident victims were trapped inside the wrecked vehicle. The motor vehicle accident was described as a rollover accident.
According to Habersham County Emergency Services Captain Matt Ruark, upon the emergency services' arrival at the accident scene, they found one vehicle with entrapped accident victims and the other vehicle stopped on the road with heavy damage.
The Georgia State Patrol stated that a 25-year-old driver from North Windham, Connecticut, was driving their Nissan Altima westbound along Mt. Zion Road when she allegedly failed to yield while trying to cross GA 365. Their vehicle turned into the path of a Toyota RAV4 heading northbound. The Toyota hit the front of the Nissan Altima and then flipped over. The Toyota driver, a 54-year-old man, was injured in the collision. Three occupants in the SUV were also injured.
Georgia State Patrol troopers from Post 7 in Toccoa are investigating the wreck. The troopers reported that everyone involved in the crash sustained injuries. Ambulances took all five accident victims to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for medical treatment of accident-related injuries. Emergency personnel stayed at the scene for over an hour.
No additional details about the severe car accident have been released at this time. The car accident is currently under investigation by law enforcement.
