Tragic, Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident on I-95 in Savannah Kills Two
SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - An accident news article published on wtoc.com states that two people were tragically killed in a severe motor vehicle accident on I-95 last Saturday night.*
The deadly crash occurred at approximately 9 PM along Interstate 95, by Mile Marker 105. The Georgia State Patrol reported that the driver of a Honda Civic was heading north along Interstate 95 while two other motor vehicles, a Honda Pilot and a Nissan Altima, were on the east shoulder.
Law enforcement officials stated that drivers of the motor vehicles on the interstate's shoulder were changing a tire on the Honda Pilot. The Honda Civic driver allegedly failed to maintain their traffic lanes and moved into the interstate's east shoulder and sideswiped the two motor vehicles parked on the interstate's shoulder. The Honda then fatally struck the two drivers who were changing a tire. The Honda's driver and passenger, as well as the passenger in the Honda Pilot, were not harmed in the pedestrian collision.
The accident report states that I-95 North from Highway 21 to Jimmy DeLoach was shut down for many hours. The fatal pedestrian-vehicle crash is currently under investigation. No additional information about the crash has been released to the public at this time. Accident witnesses are urged to contact the Georgia State Patrol to provide any helpful information that they may have.
