Several People injured in a Severe Pedestrian Crash in Savannah, Georgia

The news report states that a senior driver collided with a group of pedestrians in Ellis Square in Savannah, Georgia. The Savannah Police Department issued a media release stating that an elderly driver was exiting the Whitaker Parking Garage at around 6 in the evening when he allegedly accelerated his Ford F-150 pickup truck and crossed over Barnard Street and into the square. His pickup truck came to a stop against a stone wall after the truck struck several pedestrians.
The driver, a 77-year-old Savannah man, was not injured in the crash. However, his 67-year-old female passenger was injured in the collision. Several pedestrians were injured in the collision, and two are still hospitalized at a local area hospital. Stanley was not injured in the crash. The Savannah Police Department did not release any additional information about the tragic pedestrian accident at this time.
