Fatal 18-Wheeler Accident in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia
FORT OGLETHORPE, GEORGIA - According to an auto accident article published on lmtonline.com, two people were tragically killed in an 18-wheeler truck accident in Catoosa County, Georgia.*
The report states that the truck driver, a man from Atlanta, has been criminally charged with vehicular homicide after allegedly causing an accident that injured three children and killed two adults. The 47-year-old truck driver is being held without bond at the Catoosa County Jail. He has also been criminally charged with running a red light and speeding.
Georgia State Patrol troopers repoted that the trucker was operating an 18-wheeler that struck the side of a minivan at an intersection in Fort Oglethorpe.
The accident victims' identities were not released to the public at this time. The three children who were injured in the truck accident were transported to local area hospitals. One or more of the children were air evacuated by medical helicopter. Their medical conditions have not been reported.
The truck driver was not harmed in the truck accident. Georgia State troopers arrested the trucker at the accident scene. The truck accident is currently under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol. No additional information about the truck crash has been made public at this time.
