Alleged Drunk Driver Caused a Fatal ATV Crash in Statesboro, Georgia
STATESBORO, GEORGIA - An accident article published on wtoc.com states that a driver, who was allegedly intoxicated, caused an ATV accident that tragically killed a passenger.*
The driver, a 43-year-old man, was criminally charged with DUI and was released from jail on a bail bond. According to the crash report, there were five people riding on the ATV when one of the passengers who was sitting in the bed fell off of the ATV and hit his head on the ground.
The fatal ATV accident occurred at around 8 PM along Five Chop Road by West Waters Road in Statesboro, Georgia. The driver told Georgia State Patrol that he believed that the victim, a 62-year-old man, stood up to grasp something from a cooler prior to his fall. The victim tragically passed away at the scene of the accident.
Other occupants riding on the ATV included a 36-year-old woman and a 3-year-old girl who was riding in the front. A 12-year-old boy was riding in the ATV's bed. There were no other injuries reported. The fatal ATV accident is currently under investigation.
